The NixieStar Clock is a reasonably simple-to-assemble analog style Nixie timepiece that uses IN-13 tubes. The clock includes a real time clock with a super cap to keep time during power loss. It has two surface-mount components with SOIC packages. The lead spacing is .05″ which is approximately half the distance of a standard DIP package. With a steady hand, these chips are not hard to place.
The kit does assume some ability to work with wood: mostly trimming, sanding, and gluing. The wood supplied with the complete kit comes bare to allow for your own custom painting. The case is made out of solid cherry that has been CNC cut.
